For my next STPSP (Star Trek Planetary Systems Project) update, arguably my most extensive, many of the surface bases will be given extensive overhauls in order to make them more series-accurate. Among other things, this will require the use of specific meshes for various structures. Unfortunately, with the exception of the Klingon High Council building, most of the specific structures do not have any sort of 3D models available for download anywhere as far as I can tell. Since I know practically nothing about 3D modelling, I will have to turn to someone here in the Orbiter community who can produce the specific meshes needed for my project.

The specific structures needed are as follows:

Romulan Senate

Cardassian structure

Ferengi Tower of Commerce

Several Federation structures

Actually, now that I think about it, these screenshots from Nemesis, plus this rendering of the main building, are probably better reference images for the Romulan Senate than the one in the previous post:

(Personally, I'm thinking of rendering only the central section of the city, since doing the whole thing would probably be too complex of a render.)

Again, if there's anyone here who'd be willing to produce the requested meshes, your assistance is very much appreciated.

I think the whole romulan capital shouldn't be too many faces to render, maybe a part of it could even be done with standard base objects without sacrificing too much. Of course, more details is always possible... The movie also had a number of reoccuring buildings among it, that could also improve performance a bit.

The problem is just that adding too many high-detail buildings to the complete base should instantly cause a framerate drop when getting in viewing distance, I don't know how Orbiter reacts, if you have a major city structure base and smaller detail bases that start getting rendered later. Likely bad on the usability side then.

That's what I meant when I said it might be too complex of a render.

In any case, it's probably best to start with something relatively simple like the Cardassian, Ferengi, or Federation structures. Although the above renders only show these structures from one angle, you should be able to get a general idea as to their basic shapes. Regarding the Tower of Commerce, it's stated to be forty stories tall, which would place its height somewhere around 120 meters.

In the meantime, here are some screenshots from Insurrection that, alongside the official blueprints featured in the first post, should give one a good idea of the overall look and scale of the Ba'ku village:

Speaking of the whole project, there's a 3D model for Praxis available here at Celestia Motherlode. It's far more series-accurate than the one I'm currently using, which is basically a palette-swapped version of NightHawke's Ceres model, itself originally by Jestr. (Changing textures is literally the only thing I know about mesh-making.) If there's anyone here who can create a usable mesh out of it, that would be very much appreciated.

i have tried to get the Praxis mesh to work but i only get errors from the converter so im afraid its not openable..
That's too bad. Hopefully this Praxis model by bfdf is workable. If it is, then I recommend doing just the moon itself and not the debris field. Indeed, I suspect that the issue may have had something to do with the fact that fungun's model is rather old and outdated.

By the way, what's your progress on the Klingon High Council building?

By the way, I just realized there's a few more meshes I'll need for my upcoming STPSP updates, namely some Bajoran structures and additional Cardassian ones, similar to the ones highlighted below:

Again, while these scenes only show the structures from the one angle, you should be able to get a good idea as to their basic shapes and sizes.

So one would have start from scratch. Which structures first?

As I've said before, it would probably be best to start out with the simpler ones and then move up from there. As such, I'm thinking we should probably do the various Federation structures highlighted in the image below. Once again, while this scene only show these structures from the one angle, you should be able to get a good idea as to their basic shapes and sizes.

Thanks. I haven't found Praxis. There are a lot of nice addons
I assume you've since found the Praxis mesh, but just in case you haven't, all you need to do is click the download button on the linked page. Said mesh is part of the downloadable package.

Yes. But I thought it had the city parts that you needed.
Just wondering, but how long do you expect it will take to render the requested structures? And while we're on the subject, have you begun working on the Praxis mesh yet?
