Video-Simulation of Orbits used in "The Martian"...
Hello Skorp!
Sorry, I haven't been here for a while...
What Orbiter-Version do you use?
Meanwhile the original Orbiter-Earth-textures are so good, (and since Orbiter is a SPACE-Flight-Simulator) ;-) I don't use addon-textures anymore.
However:
Check out...

No.
But you can bring it into orbit as a payload on Dansteph's Deltaglider!
Feel free to use TUG-SAT as a payload in other projects!
See you up there... ;)
Great idea!
I just played around a bit with the XML-File and included more keywords so that it also works with some important addons (XR-Fleet, AMSO, DG-IV, UCGO, UMMU and ShuttleFleet).
Here is the code from the modified Orbiter-SCN.xml:
<NotepadPlus>
<UserLang...
I don't think so.
Since your ship and your target do move in the same direction. (from West to East)
Imagine a watch.
You want to reach Apoapsis at the 6 o'clock-position.
-With your ship you start the transfer (180°) at the 12 o'clock-position moving counterclockwise to the 6...
GEO
Almost right. :tiphat:
But you have to take Earth's rotation into account.
1) Find out your orbital period (T) for the transfer-orbit! I just tried it with PeR=6600 and ApR=42000. -Makes 37780 Seconds for one orbit. -For the transfer from Perigee to Apogee you need half the time (180°)...
Hello!
Have you got any new findings about the black shadows-issue with ATI-cards?

Greetings,
Stinger
Is it possible to run orbiter_ng.exe on my Laptop (doing the maths), and connect to it via LAN (100Mbit) from another PC (rendering the graphics)?
If yes, how can I do this please?
I did it in normal speed! (after several crashes of course) ;)
Here's how it works:
-Goto the upper panel.
-Position your mouse over the emergency power
-Hit ctrl+p
And now really quick!!
-Doubleclick emergency power
-start apu
-Turn the bus selector dial to 'emergency power'
-Switch on...
collision detection
I know this was discussed on page 2 of this tread already...
I may add, that I think it's not necessary to implement collision detection at high relative speeds. -Shooting down Satellites I rather leave to certain countries who consider it necessary to prove their power...
DG-IV - Disp, Spec
AFAIK DG-IV uses the 'D'- and 'S'-key for it's Onboard-Computer. (Disp. and Spec). -If you use WASD-keys now for moving around, maybe thats the reason why it CTDs...
Despite of that:
Great Addon! :tiphat:
Cool!
...when you are trying to use 'ctrl'+'Arrow' and 'PgUp'/'PgDn' to change PoV in MS Flightsimulator...
Yes, I've caught myself doing this several times.;)
