    Been away for awhile...

The last time I was really active with Orbiter was around the time that the first patch for the 2010 version was released. I've been around since the 2003 version, off and on... Bern lurking occasionally since I was last active. I seem to remember the XR2 Mk 2 thread being closed, and screenies...

    Been away for awhile...

As the thread title suggests, I've been away from Orbiter and the community for awhile. I'm wondering what major events, changes, etc have occurred while I've been gone. Particularly with regard to Orbiter itself, development of the XR2 Mk II, graphics clients using DirectX 9-11, IMFD...

    Gaming 0x10c

I wish to apologize for posting a separate thread on this. For whatever reason, a search for "0x10c" (no quotes) returned zero results, and I didn't see this thread on the first two pages of this subforum.

    Gaming 0x10c

I've come across news about a new game that's in development. The dev is Notch, who is also involved with Minecraft. The game is currently called 0x10c and will be space based. There is an emulated 16-bit CPU that can have custom programs made for it, which is why I'm bringing it to the...

Project Base Improvement Project: (Updated 4/1/11)

I believe that Kulch had the mass driver located at or near BB by default, to go with Luna City. I suspect all you'd need to do is add the requisite lines you your base config files to put it in. Though I'm still not 100% certain the addon itself is 2006/2010 compatible (greater chance of 2006...

Project Base Improvement Project: (Updated 4/1/11)

Kulch made one a few years ago. I think it may still work...though I'm sure the base would need upgraded to 2006/2010 standards.

    Project XR Rolling Repair

2006!?! They released a new version? *goes back to playing around with Orbiter 2003...*

OHM XR2 UCGO Cargo Platform v2.2

Any chance you could find time to make a shorter version so we can fit the XR2's CHM in the bay as well (I know you'd lose some space on the platform)?

    HyperDart - A new spaceplane

First time out with the HyperDart (that I can remember, anyway...) and I managed to get my ApA somewhere above 650km with more than enough fuel left in the main engine tanks to circularize. However, I decided to circularize to around 364km instead. And I still have enough main engine fuel left...

Project XR2 Ravenstar - Mk II

Coolhand, could we get some renders from other angles (top, and one from the front, slightly off to one side and up)?

    SSTO Testing

And yet, somehow, the Soviets managed to do exactly that with their shuttle... AFAIK there were no major problems during the test. Buran even landed itself...where they wanted it to... If the Russian space program hadn't lost its funding, it's quite likely that they'd have actually used it...

Project XR2 Ravenstar - Mk II

Coolhand, I'm just curious why you decided to remove the wingtips that were present on the Mk. I (the entire section of wing beyond the elevons) from the Mk. II. I liked those wingtips, they gave the ship character...

Project XR2 Ravenstar - Mk II

It sounds like you may not have installed something properly, or that something got corrupted. I'd suggest trying it on a clean Orbiter install. Edit: Time to address the thread topic... So... Doug, Coolhand... How's the Mk II coming?

Project XR2 Ravenstar - Mk II

This may have something to do with the fact that the new DGIV (2.0) and the Arrow use UMMU 2.0. Many of the older vessels (such as the XR series) are based on UMMU 1.5. Dan included a program (in the Orbiter\Utils folder) to patch existing dlls to the 2.0 standard. I have patched my XR2 dll with...

Project XR2 Ravenstar - Mk II

This functionality is based on UMMU and not UCGO. Since the XR series already supports UMMU (at least 1.5), this functionality should already be present. Doug, if you haven't already done so for the XR series, you may consider updating to the UMMU 2.0 SDK instead of the older 1.5. I'd imagine...
