When you run Visual Basic in Vista or Windows 7, runtime libraries will be missing. You need to look for Visual Basic 5 runtime libraries, download them and install them. Microsoft has them for download somewhere. Does it help?

Meredith Whitney: "No Doubt We Have Entered A Double-Dip For Housing" Now we know where did recovery come from. People are buying because they are not paying their mortgages. Without increase of employment and no increase in wages in US, without the bill to create jobs, it was quite strange that...

    OFMM General Discussions Archive

Space travelling or living in alien planets is more about managing your resources than just navigating for fun. Whatever you do will be determined by resource management. If it was for fun, humanity would have been already living on the moon. I understand you may not want to include this, for...

Flight Question trying to understand Geostationary / geosynchronous orbits

Velocity and altitude describe kinetic and potential energy. In an orbit or in flight you exchange kinetic and potential enrgy. However in atmoepheric flight there is an energy loss due to drag. This is why periapsis burns are so efficient, because a small burn allows you to gain plenty of...

    Mesh Wizard help

If I remember correctly in the settings you may enter the directory where textures should be read and displayed. Those should be BMP files if I remember correctly, which means you need to convert them and put them there so you can see them. I made this software long ago.

    News Yuan

Current economy is designed to be inflationary, since fractional reserve system and credit produce inflation. So nations around the world have two choices: 1.Absorb inflation (more "competitive" cheaper workers) 2.Lose jobs It seems apparent to me that thanks to Obama's request, US will pass...

@Martin: Earth space debris navigation and future versions of Orbiter

You may need to simulate tether and its physics. Debris fields using spacecrafts would clutter the vessel list in Orbiter, making the list not manageable. Also the realism of sensors should be implemented. I see all these factors being part of the Orbiter core.

OFMM: Life support? I see that OFMM (Mission to Mars project) seems to be considering mostly power and operation of machines (machine centered approach, with humans being only a feedback component of the system), but I do not see life support. Humans ned food, water and air to live and they...

@Martin: Earth space debris navigation and future versions of Orbiter

If Orbiter is to simulate real space flight, it may simulate not only low thrust navigation (which is likely to be near future technology) but also space debris navigation (not like a Star Wars asteroid field) around Earth. Nowadays space navigation is quite a challenge with all those objects...

    Good practices during flight?

In space normal concepts applicable to atmospheric fly are useless. For example, dropping water from the air may not seem to serious, but even letting a drop of painting or a toolbox to float in orbit may cause an accident. I am not sure air traffic people may be good for space protocols...

Obama welcomes China's move towards flexible yuan For some time US has been asking yuan to raise. I am not certain that this is what US wants. Even if it raises, jobs would hardly return to US, for Americans may need to lose between 4/5 to 14/15 of buying power due to the variation to be...
