I'm trying to land a Shuttle on Edwards Air Force Base, but the runway is too bumpy to land properly, unlike on SLF. How to flatten the terrain? I don't see the option on Video > Advanced.
I wonder whether Orbiter runs well on ARM devices or not, including both Windows and Mac. I'm asking this to the forum since Orbiter isn't listed in the otherwise community-maintained Software Compatibility List for Windows ARM, and the discussions on Mac support are mostly on Intel Macs...
I used to take long breaks from Orbiter and this forum due of the academic pressure. But as I have heard of Orbiter 2024, I have just installed it and tried to open both Orbiter.exe and Orbiter_ng.exe using my Windows 11 24H2 laptop. But none of the two opens. No logs appear, just a window...
I know there are already a few Android games dedicated to spaceflight. But some of them need payment to install, while the freemium ones are in 2D and don't properly replicate aerodynamics and celestial mechanics. What I'm looking for is kinda like the Android equivalent of Orbiter.
I think it...
The orbiter-radio website is used to host tilewise high-resolution Earth textures. Although the website is now suffering from link rot, the zip files are still downloadable. I cannot find anything from the Wayback Machine. So how do you guess which area a zip file may cover (e.g. EarthHi_11_05.zip)?
As you know, I was away from developing add-ons for a year. I had even stopped playing the simulator for over six months because of peer pressure to complete my school and college exams. Although I'm still studying in college, I have enough time to spare for my favourite game. Since I have...
Bharatiya Antariksha Station (BAS), literally "Indian Space Station", is a space station proposed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO, pronounced "iss-ROW"). It is partly inspired by the ISS. Although I have not yet returned to Orbiter for personal reasons, I want to play with the...
After Chandrayaan-3, India will have its first solar mission called Aditya-L1 (aditya means "sun" in Sanskrit). It is scheduled to launch next month and it will be placed on Sun–Earth L1 point. Feel free to discuss on the mission.

After a two year delay, martins has silently released the next version of Orbiter, the Orbiter 2020 (aka 20200332). While the version was finalized in 32 March 2020, its release had to delay for two years due to the COVID-induced lockdown in his country.

The Gaganyaan program (from Sanskrit gagan (sky) + yāna (craft)) is an Indian attempt to sent Indians into space using indigenous technology. Until today, Indians (and other people of Indian descent) have gone to space using foreign spacecraft.
The first unmanned mission of Gaganyaan is...
When I first came across the news that a person bought some land of the Moon, I took it to be completely rubbish as I thought the land ownership of anything beyond 100 km is banned under the Outer Space Treaty in 1967. However, I have come across such news (and memes related to it) several times...
While watching the newly-uploaded Soyuz 18a video by Scott Manley, I found that he used an unknown add-on alongside a Soyuz add-on in his Orbiter 2016 simulation of Soyuz 18a. Where can I find this add-on? I am showing its screenshot below.
Edit: I just got a better network connections and...
Few days ago, when I just opened my smartphone for updates, I found some news about the Starlink satellite constellation and how it will change the lives of developing countries like India. I am already aware of the constellation since SpaceX launched its first batch of 60 Starlinks aboard...
While lurking around the YT channels of space nerds (Everyday Astronaut, Scott Manley etc.), I found an interesting rocket concept called Falcon 9 Air* (or Falcon Air). Falcon Air was an air-launch-to-orbit (ALTO) rocket proposed by SpaceX in 2011-12. However, the proposal ended in the fourth...
Hi, I have just bought a laptop to ditch my 8-year old desktop computer. In order to ditch my desktop, I have to move everything from there to my laptop, including Orbiter 2016. As Orbiter 2016 is a huge file (2.5 GB), how can I move it to my laptop?
