That would be a good reason to dwell upon OO (Orbiter-Oriented) C++ learning, free time permitting.

    Request Skylon

Current progress is: abandoned (indefinite halt) I encourage anyone who wants to make their own mesh if they feel so. However, I don't rule out finishing (or re-doing) mine in the long term :)

    News Reaction Engines News

Looks very nice, though probably it means I need to get the engines meshes redone. The front cone closes when switching to internal lox, right?

    Chapman Challenge

Venus challenge: Finally completed it! I launched the Chapman in an Ariane 5 ECA from Cape Canaveral, but I didnt take a pic of it, sorry. With about 98% fuel of upper stage, I executed my escape plan (transx): hm.. I need to learn a little bit more in this area, transx approximation was 12...

Orbiter Flag Challange - "Grand Tour" style

Seems interesting, might give it a try after I complete the chapman challenges... Do we have to complete this in a "lifetime"? And I think you could only refuel where there is a Fuel-Station (Grounded or on orbit), so if you wanted to refuel in every planet, youll have to add fueling stations...

    Chapman Challenge

Ok, I'm approaching venus now, though my ejection burn wasnt exactly perfect... So, for aerobraking... What are the structural limits of the probe? How much g's and how much dynamic pressure is recommended? Its possible to slow down enough to be captured in the first pass? I want to finish...

    Request Skylon

Payload bay is done. Next thing on the list.. engine nozzles. There are four nozzles in the middle, but whats the outside thing? I guess its a round aperture around the four nozzles..

This is the mesh now To be done: - Payload bay and doors - Engine nozzles - Better wheels, and space to retract them - Probably some better wings - Textures and.. any suggestion :)

    Request Skylon

I started to make a simple skylon mesh in the summer, but stopped working on it ... I think i'm gonna work a little more on it this week... When i'm at home I can post some pictures. I talked to Urwumpe, and if I recall correctly he was willing to adapt some old code by someone to use it in the...

    Tricks on LEO,with DGIV

I think you are correct, you need to point thrust vector in the + plane normal, be it the main engines or the hover. However you still need to be near the node for it to be efficient.

News 80 years of "The Adventures of Tintin"

I did read almost all of them when I was 12 or something... They were my favourite  I still have them! Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon were my favourite among them, but I lent them to a friend and... they never came back.:( Happy Birthday, Tintin!

    Chapman Challenge

So, if I understand correctly, when I make a plan, it has a "direction to eject" (to where we are looking, in the ball example) and swinging Ej orientation changes the point in which we eject in that direction? Anyways, its much clearer now, thank you very much :) Btw, I think I saw that tip...

    Chapman Challenge

I'm currently attempting the Venus challenge with an Ariane5 ECA. Using the Inc and LAN given by transX, put that into LaunchMFD 1.2.8 (if it doesnt do anything, that ecliptical coordinates correspond to a eq. orbit with less inclination than your launch site) Then LaunchMFD will give you a...
