has anyone els seen or watch this show on the discovery Chanel?
i find it very interesting and believable due to ALL the proof of previous aliens visiting earth with all the relics, monument,s drawings, and even that box they found with gears in it believed to date back many years before people had such technology!

...oh and can someone enplane to me how to make a poll...

ALL the PROOF?

First of all... it's evidence. Proof is only possible in mathematics.

And second, what evidence? A pyramid itself is not evidence...

Actual proof? You mean all the alien handbooks and used spacecraft parking lots round the back of Giza?

It is a very interesting series, but don't take it too seriously.

Humans are perfectly capable of building pyramids, gears, mechanical computers, flying machines, rumor has it they can even walk on the moon, all without any aliens to help them!

Shh... In fact, Earth's population is of Martian origin, so we have received help from "aliens".

That might be true but only if the theory of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panspermia"]panspermia[/ame] is correct.

No. But I am sure a German sync of it will be running lately at night soon.

Sorry, but what evidence do you mean? Monuments are hardly evidence of alien visits, because it is very hard to come from stacked stones to extra-terrestrials: Extraterrestrials are traveling for light-years to explain humans how to stack stones, but then also don't leave other evidence behind?

I am sure, I will now shock your image of the world, but: Humans did already have a brain 2 million years ago - the human brain didn't actually see massive changes in capability for at least the past 90,000 years. And that is just the evidence that we can find - the veil of history is sometimes harsh. We do know that humans already build complex wooden structures 9,000 years ago, 5000 years before the first pyramids had been constructed.

All that ancient aliens stuff, like von Däniken sells, is pure nonsense. It has no evidence, only claims without causality. It works by limiting the evidence mentioned in a book or cheap documentary around only to those pieces of evidence, that can be interpreted in the ancient alien way, and leaves the massive amounts of evidence away, that show that humans alone had been involved.

Ask extra-terrestrials, but usually, they only come to Earth to teach you how to stack blocks of stone of top of each other.

 Panspermia is true as well as the hollow earth theory. Martians are living in Earth I say.

No. It's generally total nonsense- writers like Erich Von Daniken and Zetcharia Sitchin put forth misrepresentation of evidence, claims in contrary to modern science and general pseudoscience. Concepts like aliens interbreeding with humans are utter nonsense, and the representation of sapient extraterrestrials are often laughable.

And as Andy44 said, one must give credit to the people who built the various ancient wonders of the world- with enough sweat, political determination and stone tools, such things can really be done. If it was done by motorised mining equipment and cranes and laser shears, there's no evidence of it.

Nevertheless the concept must not be disregarded- although it should be treated as highly, highly speculative without some sort of incredible evidence.

There's nothing to say that aliens didn't visit Earth in the past. They could have abducted Cretaceous biota and genetically engineered them for life on Epsilon Eridani b.

65 million years later, the dinosauroids that resulted from the experiment leave Eps Eri in nuclear pulse ships and plan to retake their prehistoric home...

Red Alert! Get those X-Wings into the air. We are under attack by mutant dinos!

To me, this is one of the most intriguing thing the humans' history. I'm not denying it, but my questions are:

  1. Why it took (say) 9000 years to build the civilization that we have now? Did we need a major social change for example?
  2. Mad Max "what if" scenario: if we suddenly loose the ability of keeping the civilization in its current state by for example exploiting all oil without replacing it with alternatives, will we need additional 9000 years to rebuild everything? After all our brains didn't change much, so if we forget something / loose documentation, we need to redesign the wheel.
  3. Then again, maybe biologically their brains were similar, but not trained enough or trained for other things?

Simple answer: It is far easier and faster to learn something from somebody else, than finding it out yourself. Imagine having yourself to figure out how to multiply large numbers in a fast way. The Egyptians had such a basic technology at the time the pyramids had been build.

I've watched it, and some of the theories are interesting. I think the more interesting point is that humanity may have been more highly skilled and civilized earlier than originally thought.

They may have been great stone masons, but they were not great communicators. Thus, we can only theorize about them.

Then it appears that I answered my question no. 2 ...

Not very true. They communicated a lot about it to us, but the ancient astronaut people just fail to include this communication:

  • The Egyptians have many drawings about construction processes in their graves, including credible numbers on the workforce involved in tasks.
  • The Egyptians needed bureaucracy like anybody else, and wrote things down - for example how many people worked in which organization structure, how much food they received and what kind of qualification they have. For example there had never been slaves involved, the poorest class of workers had been peasants, who paid their taxes by working on the monument during the flooding months. Most workers had actually been highly specialized experts for large scale constructions - who often had been transfered to the pyramids from other projects.

If there were an expedition to Earth from another civilization during historic times I think we would have found some hard evidence like some discarded high tech equipment, some unnatural debris in Earth orbit, maybe some satellites left to observe Earth and relay data back or something. Look how much hardware humans left on the Moon from few brief visits. An interstellar expedition would be orders of magnitude larger. If they wanted to do any serious scientific study on Earth they would need lots of equipment which would be left here because no one would waste precious cargo space on hardware that can be easily made at home.

Also they would not come here to build some fancy stone buildings, they would come to study the Earth biosphere because that is the only feature Earth have that would justify the enormous undertaking of pulling off an interstellar journey.

I remember seeing a 'documentary' about how aliens built the pyramids, Stonehenge and many other landmarks to somehow use Earth as a large power grid. The only thing that amazes me is that there are fanatics who actually believe this. They quoted some numbers about how humans would have to move one stone every X minutes to build the pyramids within the timescale of their construction, but they seem to have forgotten that they had more than one person doing it!

Von Däniken. 'Nuff said.

You must be wrong. The earth just is 3.000 years of age and flat:rofl:
