Iran’s Aseman Airlines has confirmed that one of its planes has crashed in southern Isfahan, saying in a statement that the plane crashed into Dena Mountain.

The ATR 72-500 (reg. EP-ATX) came down in the Zagros mountains near the city of Semirom in Isfahan province while flying between Tehran and the south-western city of Yasuj, reports say.

Bad weather reportedly prevented an emergency helicopter reaching the site.

Governor of Iran’s southwestern city of Boyer-Ahmad confirms plane crashed in Padena Mount, south of Isfahan.

“An ATR aircraft of Aseman Airlines with 60 passengers and about six crew disappeared from radar this morning,” Aladin Borujerdi, head of parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission, told the semi-official ISNA news agency.
