News Astronaut Alan G. Poindexter dies in accident

This is beyond terrible, this afternoon NASA Astronaut Alan G. Poindexter, pilot on STS-122 and commander of STS-131 died today in a jet skiing accident at Pensacola Beach, Florida. This is yet another terrible loss for the astronaut corps, I send all prayers to Commander Poindexter's family, he will be missed.

How horrible. The guy is an astronaut, rides the shuttle successfully, orbits the Earth at 17,500 miles per hour and circles the globe in 90 minutes after an ascent with tons of explosive fuel strapped to him on a dangerous spacecraft and he dies in a Jet-ski accident...

Reminds me of Pete Conrad being killed in a motorcycle accident...
