Interesting details of the construction.... but I really wonder if they know what they are up to now. The LC-39 flame trench was left pretty battered after each launch, not quite capable of keeping the energies in place that got released inside that.

Not since the very early shuttle program IIRC. The white tiles were replaced with thermal blanket as it was lighter and less prone to damage. It seems they are still trying to shave some mass off of Starship (or protect some parts that they thought the stainless steel could cope with the heat but didn't).
 
Second to last one is almost a cool shot. Not sure what turns me off about it 🤣
