Why won't now THIS one work? Its constant with 2016.

I just tested that here and it works fine for me. What exactly is the error you are seeing? Can you post your Orbiter.log file? Are you testing in a clean installation?

It just doesn't load, the error seems to be outside the error handling message boxes of Orbiter

Edit:

using fresh 2016, simply filing things as I did with with my 5 years experience with oribter which I love

Why won't now THIS one work?

Version incompatibility. Corrupted installation. Additional modules and/or plugins that cause crashes.
Many such things are possible.

Please post a log. Without it, we can only offer guesses.

The message boxes don't really tell you much. They're from the system, not orbiter.
There's a file called orbiter.log in the sims root folder, that's where Orbiter logs its errors. We'll need the contents of that file to help you.

I have run quicksave since then this iswhat I have, and may not pertain to the file at all..


Please consider that what I am complaining about is a runnable 2016 quick save, I time lapsed, switched locations and saved. So Many of the arguments made here (its an addon its this or that) are invalid. aAlso, there is no error handler. I have been getting a lot of unexutable quicksaves from 2016.

Thats a base location I downloaded, its an island



Also, can someone tell me why EVA evacuated people just fall through the center of the world when EVA'd from the craft. Also, why does 2016 seem like a downgrade in every aspect?

That log looks odd. Did you try to use Orbitersound, despite it not working in 2016?

OrbiterSound 3.5 and UMmu are addons that are not fully compatible with 2016.

This attitude will not get you very far here. Please tone it down a little, so we can focus on getting your problem solved. If you keep it up, I - for one - will certainly stop responding.

On the topic, it is a well known problem with the incompatible UMmu that saves that focus an UMmu with internal view crash on startup. Perhaps this is what you are experiencing.

You mean, like, the flat planetary spheres with blobby textures downgraded to fully realistic 3-d terrain? Or touchdown points being downgraded from a simple "triangle pointing downwards" to a collision mesh that can interact with terrain? Or dockports being downgraded to also work on the ground? Sheesh, I dunno, but my best guess is because it's AWESOME! :lol:

Yeah. But after 6 years of development it also broke a few add-ons. Could be bad, but isn't IMHO. It just shows that its time for new people to keep the flame burning.

Also, be advised the the shipping XR versions use neither UMMu nor OrbiterSound anymore: they use XRSound now. Please see the XR download page for details.

The first thing I would do is create a clean Orbiter 2016 install -- do not install UMMu or OrbiterSound, neither of which work correctly in Orbiter 2016. Then download the latest XRSound and XR vessel(s) from my Web site, and everything should work.
