Zardoz's Eagle II's are one of my favorites. Here's how to make them work in the Orbiter 2010 version, patch 1 (but there's a catch). If you aren't familiar with editing config and scenario files, you may want to pass on this.

Download Vinka's "Spacecraft3.dll" from his website, http://users.swing.be/vinka/, or elsewhere. It's used in many other addons.

Download the Eagle II file - "EagleII-040721.zip" from orbithanger.com. Unzip it directly into Orbiter or install it manually. It doesn't overwrite anything in my fairly typical installation.

Move EagleII.cfg, EagleIIa.cfg, and EagleIIb.cfg from the Config/Spacecraft folder to the Config/Vessels folder. Leave the other files in Config/Spacecraft.

Edit each of the 3 moved .cfg files, EagleII.cfg, EagleIIa.cfg, and EagleIIb.cfg, by changing "Module = Spacecraft" to read "Module = Spacecraft3".

Back in the Config/Spacecraft folder, edit the Spacecraft.cfg file by changing "Module = Spacecraft" to read "Module = Spacecraft3".

Place "Spacecraft3.dll" in the "Modules" folder. If you have other addons, it may already be there.

Paste the following into the "Ships" section of the scenario of your choice:

EagleII:EagleII

This assumes you have a standard installation, including Cape Canaveral and Brighton Beach. The ship definitions are slightly modified versions taken from the "Bighton.scn" (sic) scenario included with the Eagle II's.

The Eagles will appear in your scenario on the indicated pads. You can edit their locations using the Scenario Editor. But here's the catch - you can't, or at least I can't, create a new Eagle from the Scenario Editor. If you need additional Eagles, you'll have to copy and paste as with the first 3.

Another catch is that the Eagles are a little too long to fit into the Arrow Freighter's cargo bay. You can still dock them there, of course, but their tailpipes are partially buried in the aft bulkhead.

The Eagles look right at home on any lunar base. A great autopilot for them is rawash's outstanding rework of LazyD's and Vanhi's LolaMFD, "LolaMFD for Orbiter 2010 (corrected)". Download it from orbithangar.
