Errors Downloading Hi-Res Texture Packs

Hello all.....Thank you Martins for all the work you do!! :thumbup:

I have been trying to download the Hi-Res Texture Packs for a few days now.....I am on my 8th time downloading just the Earth packs. :facepalm: ..(One time for the other three packs that did not work, so I am concentrating my efforts on just Earth for now)
I am no stranger to downloading stuff and using 7-zip and WinRAR....But I have never, ever had this much of a problem and had this many errors. It is not uncommon for me to have 20 different things downloading at the same time while unpacking 10 different files and installing a few programs at the same time. And 99.9% of the time I have no errors at all.
This one has me stumped. After downloading Earth 8 times I have managed to get a good copy of texture #1 and #6 of the 6 Earth files. I have attached a .png file showing the last 5 attempts of my downloads. (I did not start recording my results until they all failed 3 times)

I have tried downloading one at a time. I have tried using three different browsers (IE, FireFox, and Chrome). I have tried unzipping with both 7-Zip and WinRAR.

And then I got one more big thing to do.....I would seem that you cannot just install the main program and run it.....Some other additional programs are required to run both the main program and the beta correct??? So, I still need to figure out what other programs I am going to need to get these programs running. I have not ran the main program yet either because of download issues with the "Orbiter Bigfile" and the "Landsat Bigfile" so I am unsure of what additional programs are needed for that either.

Is there another place to download these??? Like maybe a torrent??

I really appreciate any help you all can give me.

This is the current release.

For the beta, there's some work involved, but that link is also on the same page.

Textures! There's a few sites hosting texture available as torrents; but I'm at work and they are all blocked, so I can't post a link. Maybe later if someone doesn't beat me to it.

My advice? Drop that "bigfile". Maybe I'm wrong, but I have the impression that users often have something to complain when dealing with it.

I finally downloaded all the textures successfully!! Woohoo!!

Many times it only downloads like half of a 4GB file and thinks it is done....I can't be the only one having these issues can I?? Like I said above....I download more stuff every day than most people download in a month....And I have been doing so for at least 8 years. NEVER, EVER, have I experienced anything like this.

One more thing about the "BigFile" downloads.......This is off topic for this thread but I wanted to throw this out there since it was mentioned. The "BigFile Orbiter" is different from the individual downloads. The content from the BigFile Orbiter is newer (2013) than the Orbiter individual files (2009). "BigFile LandSat" is all good.....Both the BigFile LandSat and the LandSat individual files are the same.
