The AESD Flight Communications Watch (FCW) program is an air traffic communications advisory program, providing increased safety to pilots and airport operators. When the FCW terminal is manned, AESD personnel are listening in on both the common traffic advisory frequency, and emergency frequencies. The AESD FCW terminal provides advisory service to Alexander Field (KISW, the local airport). The purpose of this program is to provide redundancy by listening to air communications, and be the first response to airborne emergencies.
