Has Anyone Made An FRF for Orbiter? That Would be fun to do
Do they test fire an SRB on the pad?? I thought they did that horizontally.
If a rocket were on a launch pad using an attachment point you could sit there a full throttle until you ran out of fuel (or released). You've got to launch off Marsbase Alpha using that method.
SpaceX should hopefully be doing a 3.5 second firing of the Falcon 9 tomorrow.
Gotta admit, seeing a shuttle bolted to the pad for 15 seconds while those SSMEs fire feels so... wrong.
Back to my original point. Can I have a. frf scn, or instructions, and a link to the hatch mentioned earlier.
You can do that with existing vehicles by clamping them to something and firing the engines. I've performed such tests using a test stand, you can see a screenshot here:
