But I haven't yet found out which number to change in the CONSUMABLES line.

Nothing to do with that. You must spawn it with propellant (fuelmass line, compare with other containers).

In the end it's the same thing, really.

I suspected when I saw my second CONSUMABLES parameter being 0.0001, and when I changed it into the nominal full value (3000) it seemed to work properly. Maybe it's a matter of trial & error method (starting with the strange numbers), and I was lucky with my inverse engineering logic :hailprobe:

Ok...thanks. I can now transfer all the propellant I want.

But fuel is the ONLY thing I can transfer. I have valid containers (BG103_O2_Container and BG105_Water_Container) docked to valid DOCKPORTS, but get the message, "No shared resources".

IIRC you need proper docking ports in both sides and both docked vessels must be independently integrated for sharing resources.

I've found that my O2 storage (and food and water) only increase when I have more life support (O2 and water) or hydroponics (food) than I have crew on board. Then my storage units fill up. Slowly, but they fill up.

I think that's what is supposed to happen: you have a too powerful life support system, so the excess O2 is refilling your containers and keeping them full at a higher rate than the emptying one. Am I wrong?

Nope, you're not wrong. I'm just giving an idea on how to fill your O2 tanks. :)

I noticed that issue when making my testing space station, and I like non self-sufficient habitats

So I can design a magical O2 generator which comes with the space tug I'm designing, and dock it from time to time.

That should definitely not be the case. Can you verify in the scenario editor that the containers are full? I guess I should really get coding again...

In the scenario editor BG105_Water_Container shows full under "propellant". For BG103_O2_Container, I can't fill it as the "propellant" button is greyed out.

Not true. I can have a BTank202_LOX_LH2_SFuelTank docked (not integrated) to a valid DOCKPORT and transfer fuel back and forth all day long if I want.

Try this scenario:

I've found that the most up to date version of the FUEL MFD will also let you transfer stuff around, although it won't let you transfer ALL stuff... just some stuff. I haven't really experimented with it that much as I'm still in construction mode. Just completed mission 39 and mission 40 is ready to launch tomorrow. Looks like initial occupancy will come in around mission 50. Nice round number I hope. I'll post a picture of it when I get it to that state. I'm also thinking about uploading the scenario here so that other folks can look it over in detail.

I just ran into an issue with the BN201 modules. If I name them BN201-01 through BN201-12, the scenario won't load with the 12th one. But if I change the name of the last one to BN201-A12 and continue along that naming convention it doesn't seem to have a problem. That's the only difference between the 2 scenarios, just 1 extra letter in the name of the 12th BN201 module. I have no idea what is causing that as there is no error log generated.. the program just crashes and exits.

Now to get to bed...

Oops you're right. My fault.

Just took a look at the container configs, they're a bit of a mess. Most probably because the documentation is a bit of a mess. Will post corrected configs soon.

---------- Post added at 03:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 AM ----------

I'm a bit rusty and can't test right now. Please check if the following configs work for BG105 and BG103. BG104 should work as far as I can tell:

BG103:

Code:

I'm a bit rusty and can't test right now. Please check if the following configs work for BG105 and BG103.

Both work, i.e., they both can be altered via scenario editor.

However, both still show, "No shared resources" when docked to a valid DOCKPORT.

Does your ship have water and oxygen storage already integrated or not? Because if not, then that's correct behavior.

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

No. I'm an idiot. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks again for the help.

I am set up again, and starting to get my hands dirty. First job is client compatibility for the existing version, that'll probably be the last code update to the current version before I start the rewrite.

Unfortunately, making the stuff client compatible involves practicaly only things I have no Idea about. I hate it when I code stuff and have no idea what it's actually doing...

I'm probably missing something big, but after I installed this, the IMS folder appears to be empty.

Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

You probably are, but unless you tell me what youßre doing I canßt tell you what it is... ;)

First guess would be that you only installed the patch.

EDIT:

Oh great, the wife forgot to put in the swiss keyboard layout on the guest account of her laptop. Seems like I can... nnnnn ßßßßßß... cannot change that without administrator access. Can somebody tell me where the apostrophe is on the german layout?

Herr Jedidia,

I first copied IMS RC2 into orbiter root folder, then did the same with SBB41B and IMSRC2.3

Herr Jedidia,

 I haven't been addressed that way ever!

I first copied IMS RC2 into orbiter root folder, then did the same with SBB41B and IMSRC2.3

That should work. I got set up myself only yesterday and did the exact same procedure, so everything should be ok with the files.

WHICH IMS folder is empty, exactly?

The IMS folder under scenarios in the client.

Glad I could give you that new experience :)

The IMS folder under scenarios in the client.

Right. Everything normal, then, thereßs not supposed to be anything in there. THatßs where the autosaves will go.

Please read the user guide, comes with a handy quickstart tutorial right at the start.

It was really more of a rhetorical question for commedic value. Of course I looked up the german layout, but habit is a strong force, so thereßs ARGH* there's still some ß and * instead of ' and !

Thanks none the less* erm... !
