Anyone used any astronomy software for the iPhone/iPod Touch? It's getting to be summer again and thus time to go outside. Anyone recommend a good one?

Also, does anyone know of an app that shows you the locations of the Jovian and Cronian (Saturnian) moons when you look through your telescope? My brother had one for his palmtop years ago, but I can't find any for iOS.

I don't know if it is good...but it is free.

I use Planets on my iPod 3G touch. You can view the night sky 2D or 3D. If you have the auto location service turned on, it will show you what the sky is supposed to look like where you're at. It will also give you rise / set times for the Moon and planets...Sun too.

i own Star Walk, and it's the best iphone app i could wish for!
perfect graphic, awesome star spotter to show what exactly you are looking at, augmented reality feature just blow me away! seriously. i was going out with my friends on my bday last week and just showed off my device with star walk. can't remember what was that constellation but omg it was the best stargazing i've ever had in my entire life.
would recommend it to anyone.

I also use starmap; for the Ipod, so I can't really comment on the compass feature. It works well for my purposes; but I haven't really compared it to other stuff. I use it with my astronomy binoculars, for identifying constellations, and for looking up things about planets; though it doesn't include too much information, its got some extras like surface temperature, day and year lengths, etc.
