Here we go. Thanks to BrianJ for fixing the animation of the mirrors.

Updated the mesh,........ This will have the new fairings.
Hi quick question does this addon work with D3D9client? Whenever I start orbiter_ng.exe and run the scenario it just closes down after loading? Am I missing something? It does run in the regular Orbiter 2016 without D3D9client.

Can u post the log? The only thing is to back sure any spacecraft3 cfg are in the server folder

I got it fixed!!. I didn't realize, had to create Symbolic Links in order for the addons to work.!! This is an amazing Addon, Thank You for the hard work on this. It really inspires a new generation in a whole new way. I'm in the process of creating a interactive space simulation station with touch-screens and buttons for my kids to experience hands-on what it takes to get to space. Will post more in the future.

I wish to tell you about a project I'm working on.
I'm currently adapting my Ariane 5 rocket (and the ELA3 launch site) for OpenOrbiter 2024.
I'm trying to simplify the installation as much as possible.

Like my Ariane 6 rocket, you'll need to install:
  • the "Ariane 5 Rockets" add-on
  • the ELA3 add-on
  • optional: Guyana Tiles add-on.

Yesterday I looked at your "James Webb Telescope" add-on.
It's fantastic. Amazing !! :hailprobe:

I didn't see it on Orbithangar... that's a shame. Could you tell me why ? :unsure:

mazy be because it's only compatible with rockets running on Orbiter 2016 ?
I just tested your Telescope (alone on a Earth orbit just to see it) and it works perfectly with Orbiter 2024.
Great job on the animations!

I saw that BrianJ helped you with the animations.
BrianJ helped me a lot with the (automatic launch) animations of the umbilical mast for Ariane 6. :salute:

So here's what I propose:
First, I need to finish my adaptation (it's in progress but I still have a few months to go.) of Ariane 5 and ELA3 for Orbiter 2024.

When that's finished, I'll create a specific package with your James Webb telescope and the files specifically for the Ariane 5 rocket.

Then—if you agree, of course—I'll send you this package so you can test it and see how it works.
This would allow you to add on OH your add-on for Orbiter 2024 compatible with the "new" Ariane 5.

What do you think?

I've I began working on adaption with your James Webb Space Telescope (from gattispilot) for the Ariane 5 rocket.

I've renamed all the rocket components to avoid conflicts with the default Ariane 5 model files.

Now I have a question : The JWST zip file contains 3 different CFG files:

The docking point is so another ship could dock with her. So if she needed repair like the Hubble.
file3 allow for the reflections in d3d9

I think you need a separate file gc? for each vessel?
 
GC stands for Graphics Client.
Here "special" configurations for rendering are placed that the "inline client" does not understand.

So I did several tests, and I came to the following conclusion (for the "reflection" graphics option):

(1) the JWST.cfg file with

Regarding my adaptation of your magnificent James Webb Space Telescope, I've almost finished installing it in the rocket.
I still need to improve the fairing textures, as I've changed all the fairings (all the 3 models : short, medium, long) on the rocket to allow for easier customization.

I'll be away until April 25th (scuba diving trip), and upon my return, I'll finish my two current add-ons :
  • Ariane 5 rockets for OpenOrbiter 2024 (almost finished)
  • ELA3 launch complex in Kourou (French Guiana) for OpenOrbiter 2024 – still to be finalized.

Once I've uploaded these two add-ons on OH, I'll finish the add-on with your telescope.

I need to try creating a guidance file to bring the JWST to the Lagrange L2 point : I'll use the same principle as in another of my add-ons, the Gaia satellite.
Papyref was the one who set up and prepared the entire procedure for me to reach the Lagrande L2 point.
