Hi all,

I’m fairly new to orbiter but have come addicted very quickly. I have been running it for about a week now with no problem until today when my joystick started playing up.

It works when I move up and down, and the throttle works but for some reason it has stopped recognising left and right movements and I have to use the number pad....which is really annoying.

Wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Thanks :)

Are you flying atmospheric, have the aerodynamic control surfaces act in "Elevator only" mode and have RCS disabled?

It happened also with my js, a workaround is the add-on for Orbiter FlyByWire:

As for myself, I discovered this problem when I was trying to dock, simply those axes did'nt work, but RCS linear was enabled. No change with the Button2 either.
I found a good solution with FlyByWire, though.

Its not do with the altitude of the ship its just it doesn’t register that I am moving the joystick. For instance, when I’m stationary on the ground and move the joystick up or down I can see the flaps making the corresponding moves but when I turn left or right it doesn’t register and the flaps don’t move.

Thanks for the link to the software but that seems complicated and a little out of my ability....wondering if there is anything I can do easily without deleting and re installing again...

Thanks

Can you go into the Windows control panel and make sure your joystick is calibrated properly? A walkthrough is here.

If the joystick movement isn't registering correctly in the Windows joystick calibration tool then it sounds like a hardware problem.

Hardware problem

Many thanks....its actually a hardware problem. :
