NASSP local vertical

hi im flying the apollo 8 mission on nassp v.7 and after the sivb seperation it asks me to maneuver to local vertical and i am just wondering what that means

I believe you are at the part in the checklist MFD where it says "maneuver to local vertical (+X towards earth)"

Local vertical is basically a line running from you spacecraft to the center of the body in question (earth), +X refers to the CSM's longitudinal axis, where it is pointing. You have to point the CSM to the center of the earth is what its asking, then after it says to burn -X with RCS, which means you will be thrusting yourself backwards and away from the center of the earth.
