The reflected "red blob" is (I think!) the NASA logo on the VAB!Landscape has low resolution, so it's difficult to evaluate the quality of the "mirror". Maybe try to look at the reflection of the DG in this "mirror". Or some mesh with text.
For clarity/to be concise you can, as I mentioned above, also do this on a material level using a config/CG/.cfg file, the advantage with a map is it's on a pixel basis. I think (?) the results are the same. Don't know if map resolution makes a difference? This was done with 500x500px for 20cm, should be enough?
Also note this is not using the (new) _metal, _rough maps, I think the metal just adds a blur/bend for a chrome effect.
