Mid-Deck development

I also really like the click-action animations - we will use this a lot in our ISSU.

And for the seats:

I believe that, for astronauts who are coming back to Earth after spending 3+ months on the space station, a special type of seat is used, that reduces the effects of gravity or something?
It is called the recumbent seat - astronauts lay on their back, instead of sitting upright.

Nice PMA :)

The seat, believe it or not, is the same seat, just on its back, with the legs folded in. I have a picture somewhere with nobody in the seat, so you can see how it looks, but I can't remember where on the NASA website it is.

An update, this is 98% correct dimensionally. I'll be working around the hatch next, should I include a fully modeled waste management section? Also, does the current SSU SVN have an 'accurate' hatch?

The last time I looked, the hatch was very accurate.

A complete WMS would be nice, but I think a complete galley would be something which could have more fun in the sim.

Forgot the FTP access for it? Can't you ask the host for a reset / new pw?

Oh and don't get my joke wrong. The mesh looks good, just I have no idea what it represents, other then a small space and something that looks like a toilette :P

No probs, that was my rather crude attempt some years ago. :)

Yeah, rang them up for the password, however, I need to remember what my secret question and answer are, which I'm completely forgot to what they were. I was 99% sure it was pet oriented (e.g. name of first pet), but they said not them. So I've had to leave it. Good Job it was a free site :)

In those screenshots, the mid-deck was complete guess work and done in CAD application, which is messy when it comes to mesh exports. The galley is completely wrong, the toilet in the corner of one of the shots is a rough guess (I have better info now). In fact the only thing that was close to being 'right' was the bailout pole.

The IGES download of the shuttle is also woefully wrong, for many reasons.....

I know in the past they have used both access points from the flight deck to the middeck, but do they still use the starboard side?

No.

Looking good Gary !!

Doh !!

I'm sorry, I got you mixed up with someone else.

It happens when you reach 50.

:)

I've got Side and airlock hatch in, Luggage, hand rails and escape inflatable. Galley is almost complete. The WCS should be complete by midweek. After that I'll start adding Fire extinguishers, misc panels (in 2D)

The Side hatch below is based off the hatch location on the SSU mesh, which I'll be adding window & handle later.

Do you want the floor hatch for Cabin filters etc added?

Do you want the floor hatch for Cabin filters etc added?

Makes sense to have it, as exchanging filters is a common task on longer missions.

Here a 'blog' of current(ish) images of the middeck:

Oh, I've spent the last weekend reading various PDFs & googling the internet to death looking for Panel ML868, it's the one above the Galley. If anyone has a good PDF or drawing, please could you drop the link here. Thanks in advance.

Look for ML86B ;)

Here is a small section of the ML86B panel on the last page:

Looking good !! GEORGE ;)

Thanks Dennis :speakcool: From the picture I was looking at, the B looked like a 8 :) Now I know what the Panel name is, I've found most of it in the SCOM.pdf.

Thanks Don. BTW I've just changed my name to Gary ;)

I'm am really excited about the detail being put into the mid-deck. Looks cool. I'm itching to get ahold of a build of this model. :speakcool:
