Most users ever online was 588, 27th Nov 2008 at 00:55

Does anyone remeber this date?
What made it so special?
Why were so many users online?
Where most of them guests or Orbinauts?

Wasn't this question already answered? Anyway, from the last thread like this, I can remember that the reason was that the M6 forums went down and everyone came here.

from New York Times, "On This Day"

November 27 2008 Iraq's parliament approved a pact requiring all U.S. troops to be out of the country by Jan. 1, 2012.

Maybe we were all celebrating "Mission Accomplished".

From Wikipedia, November 27:

Christian Feast Day:
  • Barlaam and Josaphat, the Christianized version of Buddha
  • Congar of Congresbury
  • Facundus and Primitivus
  • Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal (Roman Catholic)
  • Vergilius of Salzburg

Publications Day (Church of Scientology)

Plenty of reasons to celebrate there, whether you are a Christianized Buddha, a holder of a Miraculous Medal, or the proud owner of a Ron Hubbard publication.

I think it probably had more to do with M6 forum crashing. I'm sure most of those users were guests, I've never seen more than 400 members or so online in a 24 hour period. We usually average around 350 +/- members visiting the site daily and many more guests than that.
