It is greater performances and more frames per second than others.

Columbia Supercomputer is like an Orbiter on screen.

Also, there is no "Columbia Simulator". The super computer created by "Project Columbia" (based on Intel Processors) will be a rival to "Earth Simulator", which is based on NEC SX-6 processor units.

It has NOTHING to do with Orbiter. And it does not create more fps. It does not have a 3D accelerator card. It is a pure number cruncher. Visualization takes place on different computers, based on the results of number crunchers.

And as Orbiter is a single thread application, which does not scale with the number of processors available, the Columbia Simulator will actually be slower than your own PC at home. Such computers require special software, which split a large problem in many smaller problems, which can be calculated in parallel.
