ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
It's Mazinger Z !!"Yeah, I can fly."
I made it with VesselBuilder, and it's so much fun to fly!
Pictown was made for 2010, where Night Lights aren't a thing. These lights are just the vanilla ones with high-res tiles. The Pictown addon has pretty nice night white lights:

It seems it makes sense to try making night (colourful) lights like spot sprays in Photoshop.

That's definitely so!We need to learn how to make trees![]()
That's definitely so!
And we should investigate the effect of a large number of trees, building and other objects on Orbiter performance.
I think we can try placing trees, houses on the ground, and this will make the flickering of surface textures less noticeable.
They are just two very thin cubes placed in a cross. So like 24 tris total (or 12 polys). And, it could be reduced by half if they were replaced by four planes instead. That tree above looks perfect. How many polygons ?
Meshes with a transparent texture must be rendered last, otherwise the meshes rendered afterward will also be transparent. We need to learn how to meshes visible behind transparent meshes! Then we would have trees!
