I downloaded Orbiter (that took about three days over dialup), And the patch looked like it was from a later date so I downloaded it. I was expectinf a zip file. Its just a big file, one of the kind my puter can't read. So if I understood correctly it was supposed to go into the Orbiter folder.

Is that what your suppose to do with the thing?

I suppose you have downloaded the Orbiter base, then the upgrade to 100830 patch (it's the only logical way this problem could happen). Then the base is in the 7zip format, you will need WinRar or 7Zip. I suggest 7Zip, because it's small, free, open source and does its job really well. Also, it's really powerful.

But, before downloading anything with such a connection, please tell us exactly what you have downloaded.

Edit: Oops...didn't see your post coming...

You need 7-zip or any other archive manager that can handle 7-zip archives. >> http://www.7-zip.org/

EDIT: Wrong patch, it's 100830 after all.

O-F Staff Note: Thread renamed to "Patch 100830-100606diff file format?"
