Flight Question Problem with aero break on venus

Ok....May be my encounter Velocity is too fast the Capture DV is about 1K.
I aero break use XR2 at about 72KM,use the inverted way,the ship burn out before reach to Pea.
So,what is a good encounter velocity and Pea for aero break?
is there possible to put ship upright and use high AOA for breaking?

72 km is too low. Capture DV of 1 km/s is not too high, you simply need to remember to find the right altitude quickly and stay there.

I think you can still do a good aerobraking at 90 km altitude, maybe it was even 95 km... have not done it in a while.

Putting ship upright and use high AOA is the worst thing that you can do. You have high drag then, but no lift. you will either burn up by flying too low, or skip out of Venus because you have flown too high.

You can almost never find an altitude, in which you simply fly at negative lift at any speed and slow down. You need to pilot the vessel and stay in the right altitude band as long as needed.
