The brightness in the lower left corner of the photograph is a lens flare caused by sunlight reflecting on the window and the lens of the handheld Hasselblad camera.

I would assume it is 20x 4min exposures, [edit:] but I'd like to know for sure.

And, if I'm not mistaken, the gif is being animated in reverse (edit: confirmed). OP said they are at 63ºN latitude, so the equator is towards the South. The stars should be moving from left to right.

The instrument saw the signatures of magnesium perchlorate, magnesium chlorate and sodium perchlorate—all hydrated salts that require water to form and also contain it.
