News RIP Felix Baumgartner

Just got the confirmation that Felix Baumgartner died in a paragliding accident in the Alps yesterday, at the age of 56. Maybe not quite the spaceflight name, but his stratospheric jump from a high-altitude balloon is IMHO close enough. Also he was the first human, who exceeded the speed of sound without engine power.

These are thrilling but rather dangerous activities. He knew the risks. I guess he now is somewhere above with Amelia Earhart, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and all the others.
