Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I've been having a problem which I just noticed today. Essentially, the main runway (and the main runway only as far as I can tell) at Cape Canaveral is having clipping issues. In other words, it for some reason appears to "flicker."

I do not know of any downloads which would have ruined the runway. Unfortunately I don't have too much additional information, but has anyone had this issue in the past?

The only thing I can think of is that 2 runways are loaded, so they are clipping each other. It may be a silly suggestion, but just check you haven't somehow got to cape canaveral configs, or a double runway entry in the one there is... perhaps an addon has duplicated it?

That said, I would also expect the above to cause other clipping too, but I thought it was worth suggesting all the same. A pic would help if you can get one.

Did you try on a clean install?
Maybe there's a remote chance your graphics card is doing something that's messing it up?
Check to see if all the 3d settings in your graphics card driver are set to "application defined" or "use application settings", something like that.
Orbiter apparently has problems with some cards, but I never heard of bad clipping being one of them.

Do you have any Cape scenery, or any scenery for that matter, installed? There possible could have been a bad add-on install that's causing the problem.

I have the same problem and I think it's due to having high-res Cape and Shuttle Fleet installed.

Thanks for the advice. I seemed to have solved the problem.

Essentially, when I downloaded Slat's Shuttle Pads I created a second Cape Canaveral config so that it would replace the old pads. However, I neglected to delete the runway listing in that config.

So it was my fault, but yeah, if anyone else has issues with clipping, be sure you don't have two runway textures. :tiphat:

I wish this "bug" could be fixed in future orbiter versions.

It would be cool to be able to cross runways whithout experiencing clipping. A lot of airports have their runways crossed. ;)

Also Orbiter has this clipping-flickering problem anyway. For example, if you look from a huge distance (a few miles) at the shuttle, you will see payload clipping-flickering through payload bay doors, if field of view is 10 degrees.
The same thing happens with other objects, and meshes are not overlaying there...
