Discussion Space: 1999 updates ?

I'm only working on the cockpit mesh. I'll do the specific individual groups needed for MFDs, probably on the too big center screens.
Then it would be just a matter of coding it.

But as far as the mesh is concerned, yes, it can have two MFDs.

Here is the metaprobe. Included SDK (.cpp and .h). IF you want to tweak it just let me know so I can make changes for a final release.

I thinking things like thrust,....

It now has a airlock on top behind the head.
I also changed the docking. That info is in the cfg. The new docking point is where the airlock is.

it uses the space99 ummus and eaglevc

On the ultraprobe. I'm not sure how to add the mfd into the VC. If so one wants to help code then come on down.

Can't help with custom .dll programing, but in spacecraft3.dll configuration it's only a matter of indicating which mesh group should be used. The corresponding texture is then "transformed" into a MFD display.

(Nice Metaprobe :) with EVA ! Will test is as soon as possible.)

OK, gave the Meta probe a quick test.

There's a problem with the VC view, as the camera (and mesh) it is located at the center of the spacecraft.

To see this, dock with the ISS for example. The docking port is behind the cockpit, and all is well on the exterior views. Now switch to the internal view and you will see the ISS docking adapter in front of you.

The same happens if you EVA, with the astronaut visible in front of you in the cockpit view.

Besides that, I'd make the RCS less powerful, perhaps to only 1/3 so that the ship feels heavy.

But very nice job nevertheless, it's looking fine!

That is odd. I'll check it out. Updating the Spacedock to Ummu 2.0 and adding the adapter on the end of the tube.

Not yet. on the Mark 9

Thanks for the update, Gattis! Would you kindly do the Mark 9 Hawk as your next project?

That thing's incredible. This place is inspiring!

here is a new metaprobe. Reduce RCS by 1/3 and adjusted the VC. I can add a new docking point at the nose. Right now it is behind the cockpit

On the HAwk here is one:

Could use the mesh and build a custom dll. Use the eagle VC. Maybe add missiles?

Regarding the Hawk, my suggestion is to follow the Catacombs site:

http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/models/w2mhawk.html

The basic specs mentioned are:

- comand module with 2 person crew detachable
- middle section with fuel
- rear section with engine detachable

- twice as fast as the Eagles
- The spherical main engine » "gas core" nuclear rocket - very high exhaust velocity (20km/s+)
- black square panels in front of the main engine may be deployable fold-out radiators rather than solar panels.
- side boosters point outwards, allowing fast lateral movement.
- Eight vertical boosters on the underside of the ship
- no rockets on the top or side
- small attitude control rockets laterally

- main armament seems to be the cylinders at the end of the stubby wings, they flash like machine guns
- The rectangles hanging under the wings suggest missile launchers
- The dots along the front ends of the wing and rectangles may be conventional lasers.

The Eagle VC is a good option. Adding some nice RCS jets at the right places would also make the model come alive.

My understanding is that it doesn't land. It operates in space and from the Century dock only... The Hawk looks nice but isn't that well tough ;)

That's why I prefer the Eagle and Meta / Ultra probes, as they are closer to realistic spacecraft.

The exisiting hawk runs in 2010p1. I think if we add UMmu to it. I saw the reference to them being on the Centuri. And also add an VC.

added a cockpit

Here is an updated Centuri. Added camera location.

This maybe an issue or not. But it didn't show up in the scn editor.

Still working on the Ultraprobe CM and rear body.

MarkIX hawk. Added Ummu and now the crew follows the number on board. Need to adjust the hatchs.

yes. The Command Module will be attached to the rear main section.

Some images of the finished Ultra cockpit mesh. It is quite simple but it follows the sets shown on the series episode closely. It does not fit the external mesh perfectly, so depending on what Gattispilot wishes to do (he already has a nice interior modeled into the mesh) it may be part of the Ultra addon.
Nevertheless it's done.

I am working on the MArkIX hawk. BAsically it will have Ummu

Also on the Ultraprobe. I found a better plan that fits the show.

The interior doesn't match the exterior.

So now we don't see any forward visual windows.

So Now it looks like we might need to code a VC? Any help is appreciated. Or we can as 4thRock as done cut the CRT on the side out.
