I was getting Crash to Desktop anytime I would use F4 then Select Ship to move to another ship. I looked for the orbiter log but had no luck in finding it. I assumed it would be in the main orbiter directory.

To check this I reinstalled Orbiter in the following order:

orbiter060929_base

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

orbiter060929_sdk

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

PlanetHires060504
Earth060504_L10
Mars060504_L10
Dragonfly060504_htex

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

OrbiterSound35
DeltaGliderIV_20070526
UniversalMmu_070524

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

multistage_050721
spacecraft3_060302
Stage_2006-P1
spacecraft3_2006-P1

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

IMFD53
TransX-3.13

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

Baseland - Beta
ArriveMFD_English_v1_0

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

SubOrbMFD v2.1

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Crash to Desktop

Removed SubOrbMFD v2.1

Tested F4 -> Select Ship - Worked

I am not sure why this is happening and I don't have any orbiter.log to show any problem. I am running this on the home built system below

Vista Ultimate (32-bit) (Current Drivers and updates from Microsoft)
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.92GHz
Diamond Viper Radeon HD 3870 512MB PCI Express 2.0
(2) Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 800 - 4GB Total Memory
(2) Western Digital Caviar GP 500GB SATA 3.0 Drives - Mirrored 500GB
(2) Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB SATA Drives - Mirrored 250GB
LITE-ON Combo Black IDE DVD RW
Linksys WMP300N Wireless PIC Card
ANTEC P182 Super Mid-Tower
ANTEC EA650 650W PS

I read through the docs and did not see anything that I needed to do in setting this MFD up. But as always there might be something that I missed. I would be happy try and provided further information and test this module again.

You were right - it is a conflict of some sort. Thanks for the pointer to the thread I missed that on in my search.

I installed the Base Orbiter and SubOrbMFD and it F4 Select Ship works fine.

I added the orbiter060929_sdk and using F4 to Select Ship gets CTD.

I removed the orbitersdk directory and tried again and it still gets CTD. I am a bit confused by that but that is what happends. I will try it again and see what happens. Then I will try adding the other stuff without the SDK and see what happens.

Thanks very much for the help.

SDK has virtually no chance of interfering. It sounds like the addon is bugged, and that you just got lucky on that first try. More than likely, there's nothing you can do. Just use F3 I guess.

You were right - it was not the sdk. With the base version and no other modules but it activated it gets CTD. I wished I found something that would help the author. However, I did find the log file :blush: it was right there in front of me the whole time. As you can see it does not really shed any light on this from what I can see.

I am not sure if this bug is specific to my system or not - but perhaps someone will try it on their system to verify the bug. In any event I thank you all for the help.

Just a quick follow-up. I found a copy of SubOrbMFD v2.0 at Mustard's site. It does not cause any CTD that I found.
