Velcro Saturns is a collection of Saturn and Saturn-derived launchers created using the Velcro Rockets add-on.

You MUST INSTALL the Velcro Rockets add-on (www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php) for this add-on to work.

Included is the Saturn I, Saturn Ib, Saturn V, and proposed variants like the Saturn C-2 and C-3, the INT-20, INT-21, MLV series, and an excessive number of others.
Emphasis is on creating a generic launcher, so all variants come with a probe payload; a few also carry AMSO payloads, for fun.

Thanks to TomPA, for making public his outstanding Saturn V meshes, without which this project would not have been possible.

Hi everyone, I have been playing around with the alternate post-saturns and the S-1D with its stage-and-a-half design intrigued me. I have tried to add it as the first stage in a standard saturn stack to see what the difference the stage-and-a-half approach has in the payload I can get into orbit, however, when I launch the stack it works like clockwork until the first stage is about to run out of fuel and go for mode one charlie. Then the program crashes with no orbiter log error to help me diagnose the problem. I have toyed around with the values until I determined it is the staging between the S-1D and S-11 stage that is causing the problem. Is there a way to use the S-1D as a first stage or is it a strictly stand alone booster?

Here is the scenario as I have it now:

Code:
BEGIN_DESC
The S-1D was a unique NASA-Marshall proposal to convert the Saturn S-1C stage into a stage-and-a-half booster by turning the outer ring of 4 engines into a jettisonable module. The jettisoned engines could be recovered at sea, and the center engine, gimballed, would propel the stage into orbit. The S-1D also improved payloads when used as the first stage in a more conventional Saturn stack.
