Internet Video Thread

Two weeks ago, teachers and kids from a local school were guests at my glider site. They brought a 360 degrees cam to have a try with.

During playback, you can pan the view. When not panning, I think it's interesting how the cam tries to fix it's view in a certain direction and maintains it while the glider rotates in the thermals. Also, looking backwards at the tail during the winch launch is quite cool.

On the 27th of april 1942 when Malta was attacked by German forces, it set course to Egypt. It never arrived. It's fate has been a mystery. The grandson of the commander pushed for the search.

While we had been talking about the BMW Isetta in another thread, BMW created a nice short about one of their most famous oldtimers:

Remarkable stuff, well done production, not to mention the factuality of it.

I always though Isettta were an Italian company?

Don't think the UK built a "Bubble car", though they did build two horrendous models that could be driven on a motor-cycle licence and insurance.

They handled as they looked.

Mind you, some models had a phenomenal rate of climb:

The Iso Isetta was the early Italian version of the Isetta, BMW licensed the design and heavily modified it, making it one of the most popular cars in German at that time.

For comparison, the Iso Isetta had a 9.5 HP two-stroke engine, the BMW a 13 PS four-stroke from their motorcycle production.

There are many different Isettas around by different companies, the design was very popular in Europe and Brazil at its time.
