Support Weird crash with Dansteph's addons (otherwise a vanilla install)

I installed Windows yesterday on this computer, and I thought, why not install Orbiter on it. Sure, I've got no sound card drivers... or video card drivers (my computer is ancient). But I can live with that, assuming the graphics work. So, I've installed it, and it worked, I got so far as a Mars-Phobos mission. Afterwards, I did like any orbinaut would do: installed OrbiterSound, UCGO, UMMU and the DGIV. I launched the sim, then chose a DGIV scenario. It loaded, but then... it crashed with a 'Windows is checking for a solution to the problem' message.

I proceeded to take a look at orbiter.log.

I can't see anything wrong (but I'm not an expert) so, any ideas? It's probably something really simple, but I can't seem to figure it out. Help will be appreciated! :tiphat:

Erm... when you say you have no sound drivers, maybe it would be best to try without orbiter sound?

In any case, anrrowing dow the list to which add-on exactly causes the crash would be a first good step.

Orbiter-Sound is, for some reason, required by the DGIV. Well, I kinda hoped it would just 'play' the sounds in the software. That could be the cause though.

In any case, anrrowing dow the list to which add-on exactly causes the crash would be a first good step.

Just a second... (I'll edit when I'm finished)

Edit:

1. Vanilla install, not a single tweak. Scenario used is 'DG Mk4 in orbit'
Ran just fine, albeit at only 7-8 FPS. No idea why.

2. Vanilla install, tweaked some stuff in the Launchpad. (activated realism settings, visual effects, modules, changed to fullscreen, higher resolution, this kind of stuff). Same scenario.
Ran just fine, at 30-something FPS. No idea why it's so fast, but it doesn't matter.

3. Let the Orbiter-Sound installer do its thing.
It loads, then crashes right at the end of loading the vessels.

My guess is that everything loads just fine. Then the simulation starts, and Orbiter-Sound tries to play the cabin ambient sound. But I have no drivers, so it can't play anything, and crashes. I guess this would also explain why the log is clean.

I'm going to try to deactivate the Orbiter-Sound module and, if it works, I'll install the DGIV. But I'm not getting my hopes up...

Edit2: Oddly enough, it worked. So I installed UCGO and tested it. What better way to do that than the Arrow Freighter atmospheric flight cheat scenario... without cheating? Unexpectedly, neither the ship nor the sim crashed.

Now for the real test, the DGIV...

It worked. Yay. So, thanks for the help!
