This is for a simple scenario where the DG is present at Brighton and Olympus.

I suspect its mostly the runtime library of C++ involved. Maybe also some GUI related workers, that martins included. I never released an add-on making use of multi-threading, but I have some experiments here, which would also appear in your list.

I would expect that it's worker threads for some of the libraries as I don't think there is anything intentionally multithreaded in orbiter. That said, 5 threads isn't exactly a lot.
