Ok, so probably a daft question but I've looked in the manual (page 112) and couldn't see it listed.

XPDR frequencies - What's the guide to setting them? XPDR 0 seems to give a frequency of 108.00MHz so is it and ofset? if so how does it work.

Same for NAVFREQ - What's that about? What does NAVFREQ 486 0 mean?!

Many thanks for any insight/pointers to other docs, etc.

The number in these settings is the number of 0.05 steps above 108 the frequency setting is. So, if it said 100, that would be 113.0 (0.05 * 100 = 5 + 108 = 113). The XPDR setting is the transponder setting for the ship. The NAVFREQ setting is the nav frequency settings for the ship. Some will have 2 numbers, others will have 4 depending on how many frequencies the ship allows.

Basically to figure out the value of a frequency, subtract 108 from it and multiply by 20. 122.55 for example would be 122.55 - 108 = 14.55 * 20 = 291. I think the highest value allowed is 639 (139.95).
