Request Base fix for Orbiter 2016?

Hi,
I think I tracked down the problem to my old version of Photoshop that I used to modify the .png. I tried instead using the MsPaint that came with my Windows8.1 and initial results seem good :-)

Well, yes and no. I have already detected that your modified PNG did not make a roundtrip, because your editor failed to keep the PNG comment meta-data. However, I was unable to reproduce the white earth problem.

I have a new version in stock that exports/imports meta-data via text files to circumvent such editor problems, but I've postponed the release due to the new available layer in the beta (labels). Looks like users like you could benefit from that, though.
 
So how detailed can you get doing this. I have thought about flattening the area where the VAb stands. But can one make the sloped ramp to the launchpads. or even make the hill the launchpads are on?

Doing what? Ele2png is just a converter between the proprietary ELV format and PNG.
 
If I remember use use paint or a similar program to flatten an area, right?

But how detailed can one get?

I need to look back at the steps to see if I can just flatten where the VAb is in Florida.

Is your excel prg still available?

Yes, you can flatten areas in Orbiter, even at higher resolution levels. You would have to get the appropriate high-level ELV tile, convert it to PNG, edit the pixels, and convert it back to ELV. However, you should repeat that procedure for lower-level ELV tiles containing your area as well. That is why the Excel file I've presented before shows which tile in all of the levels would contain the specified coordinate point at what pixel position.
