but sometimes it's hard to resist you know... it's like a caffeine addiction
The solution is to configure orbiter so planetary textures (i.e. the big stuff) are in one centralised folder, and you can have as many different orbiter installs around as you want. Now you can install different add-ons in different installations and kind of "theme" them without blowing up your harddisk.

Great. Is there a way to change the view to the Cupola? Will this work in 2010?

Everything is fine here, no issues whatsoever. Only real issue is no Beta Gimbal Assembly (BGA) auto-track of the SAWs or movement of the Thermal Radiator Rotary Joints (TRRJs) on the S1/P1 trusses to keep the EATCS radiators in the shade.

Moving the BGAs of the SAWs is how auto-tracking of the sun was done for the P6 SAWs (2B/4B) before it was relocated to its final resting place at the outboard end of the P5 spacer truss.

Yes, just use standard VC camera controls. There are… several camera positions defined.
As far as 2010, I will be updating this on orbithangar soon and it will come with a dll for 2010.

Are you using the D3D9 client?

Would you consider adding MLM and Prichal? Or deleting Pirs from the mesh so that a user may add their own Pirs or MLM?

He was not using d3d9.

I could make an eva module. So the EVA would appear at an attachment point. And move according.

I am no expert on the ISS. Are these the big 3 panel radiators on the truss? If so, I can make them rotate pretty easily just know where they need to point. Perpendicular to the sun?

No and yes. They were not in the model I converted and my 3D modeling skills are… not good. What I could easily do is add a cfg option to hide them so a user can add their own as you suggested.

He was not using d3d9.
Textures are DXT5. Maybe default client doesn’t like that?

Would that be something a user could choose to install or not? I am trying to avoid a situation where a user has to install about 47 addons to use this… If so, EVA support would be pretty cool.

Great resource! I love reading stuff like this.

It looks like from what I read that I already have the BGAs working, I just didn’t know they were called BGAs.

About the EATCS: I found this
GNC software required to determine radiator position
but can’t figure out where the GNC software points them…

For the interiors of the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module and the remaining modules of the Russian Orbital Segment (Zarya, Pirs, Poisk, Rassvet), this can be a good reference in making them:
International Space Station - Google Arts & Culture
Back in the day, I modeled the Zvezda interior based on schematics from ISS training manuals:

These show the location of lights and smoke detectors and provide a good reference for the generic internal space configuration.
Similar documents might be available for other modules. Panoramas help but don't provide good spatial references to model from.

Just for reference. This is what normal graphics look like.

Yes that's what i see. what do I do to get the Cupola view and it would be super to have a real time tracking feature for this.
Super job so far

About the VC textures: I tried saving them as DXT1 and they still didn’t work.
To get to cupola view, you use standard VC camera controls.

If I remember correctly, the inline client is very particular about the format. I only got one specific kind of compression to work, and I don't remember which one. I think it was DXT3 with certain parameters, but I may well be misremembering completely.

It isn't so much about the compression technique used but rather the DDS format version. The inline client only works with certain versions of the DDS format. This is something that was discovered by the SSU team a while back in June 2018: https://www.orbiter-forum.com/threa...nt-halted-due-time-requirements.33858/page-92

That’s probably what is happening with the textures. I use paint.net for texture stuff, it has dozens of options for dds format. Will try some other formats.

Still haven’t figured out those EATCS radiators…
