Was a tough match today, and England decided to change the tempo in the right moment against a poorly defending German team.
At least, its over now... including the era of Coach Löw. Now its time for a new team and some new ideas. Germany has become far too predictable, as the last tournaments proved.

Its a bit the same here. Didier Deschamps (and Mbappé) weren't exactly welcomed with open arms back in France. Right at the moment the debate is raging on the medias : should Didier Deschamps be replaced by, say, Zinedine Zidane ?
If you like gossip and tabloïds, there's rivalry between Deschamps and Zidane. They are not the same generation, Deschamps doesn't like Zidane because... he was better than him as a player, and because Zidane popularity stays unmatched (thing is, Zidane has become quite an heroic figure, because he represents a generation of people that have Algerian [and by extension North-African] origins but were born in France - and that need such a figure). Also Deschamps is rather well-connected, and he won't leave his job until he really has to. Don't be wrong, Deschamps may look humble but he has quite a high opinion of himself (like many professional athletes).

Well, luckily, the discussion who will follow Löw is already over and it will be Hansi Flick (no surprises). But on the players side, there is still some debate, whether some older players maybe missed the right time to retire. Or if some younger players are overestimated (Which I doubt. Even Leroy Sane wasn't playing that bad, compared to the rest of the team).

One of the key swiss attacker, M'bolo, wounded himself trying to press on too hard, upper leg lower muscle failed. He has to be replaced.

Seems that the Swiss team has a spell that makes the enemy defense asleep, right now its a bit the France - Switzerland scenario again. Also, instead of getting tired, their players "awake" as the match goes on.
Swiss held its defense and draws Spain into extra time, certainly hoping to go to the penalites.

Well, I'm kinda glad spain won. I was worrying the Swiss were trying to break the space-time continuum.

Swiss team really did its best, I'd say there's nothing to regret. They successfully held their defense for 60 minutes and drawed a technically superior Spain to penalties. It was a strategy and it could have worked, really.
