Thanks! I'll make more tests. And what about the oxygen question?

A bur report:
When entering the Antares with a UMMU without one of the ANtares names (Pilot, Com, MS1, etc), Orbiter crashes (on my current installation, couldn't reproduce it in a fresh one). I tested on a fresh one and Orbiter didn't crash, but I was unable to EVA the UMMU with the different name

Well,

Antares 2.0 = 3200 downloads
Jarvis 2.0 = 1900 downloads

hmm... there must be 1300 orbinauts with problems on the Antares addon. I remember that Jarvis 2.0 is mandatory for the correct functionality of Antares 2.0!

This is possible! However, once in orbit antares works correctly without Jarvis.. maybe someone just drive antares in space!

Update to version 2.1: Several bug fixes (including external astronaut problem after HES5 stage/Antares Jettison) and better frame rate.
A new Antares Short Range mission (ASR-4), 11 days in polar orbit and experiments. Reentry in New Mexico desert!

I hope you enjoy it

I just made my first flight (with the LR version). Everything worked perfectly, I used a Saturn INT-05 as launcher (it fits perfectly because Saturn has the same diameter as Jarvis).

When reaching orbit, I wanted to change the HUD mode and pressed H. But the HUD mode did not change, instead that UMMU "x souls aboard ship x" message appeared on the HUD.

After flying around in Orbiter with the DGIV and the XR2, I wanted something that was a tad more "near tech", and this addon seems to fit the bill. Have had some great fun flying the different versions of Antares and the supplied scenario missions, however I wonder if I could suggest a thing or two. If they are not consistent with the direction you hope to take the project, that if fine, but I see tremendous potential with this add-on.

I recently started to use the UCGO ISS. Have had fun flying the DGIV and the XR-2 to the ISS, rotating the crew and bring up supplies. I would love to be able to do this with Antares, and even do runs to the moon, using the craft outside the scenarios in a manner with flexability.

When I say flexability, I mean the ability to assign the crew from a slate of UMMU crew I have in my current running scenario. I have a stable of astronauts that I use, rotating them from the Earth to the ISS and the Moon. Would love to be able to load these already created guys into the Antares as opposed to just using the pre-fabbed anonymous guys included in the scenarios.

Also a flexible launch auto pilot, much in the shape of the one found on the Energy Project. I tend to use XR2 settings that require one payload of main and scram fuel to obtain full fuel loads, so when I launch either to the moon or to the ISS with UCGO supplies, I use the Energy as a launch vehicle for the XR2 as opposed to the normal take off and SCRAM ascent. If I would be able to drop the antares into my scenario like I am the ENERGY vehicle and then plug in the altitude and launch heading that is required to reach my desired altitude, then hit launch say 2 minutes before the optimal launch time and let the computer handle the lift off, this would make this add-on absolutely epic.

Dont intend any disrespect in these requests, only my two wishes that would essentially make this my sole means of putting my virtual astornauts into space.

I just double checked and as far as I can tell (unless I missed something yet again, which is quite possible) I got all the add-ons installed... any idea what add-on might be missing according to the log?

---------- Post added 05-15-11 at 03:17 PM ---------- Previous post was 05-14-11 at 08:40 PM ----------

according to a file search, Vetro.dds is located in the textures folder.. Just for fun I moved the Orbiter directory from D:\Storage to simple D: and everything just magically started to work. I am not sure why shortening the file path to the texture worked but for some reason it did.

Just a quick update to anyone that might be having a problem

It's a basic rule.. orbiter MUST be located in C:\ or D.\ but NOT in some extra folders.. i'm glad that everything is workin now!

Since Antares VC don't have HUD it really needs some replacement for Docking HUD mode, particularly the relative velocity vector indicator. Aside from this everything is just fine. Just made my first maintenance flight to the orbital station being built at LEO. I've noticed that I have almost half of SM fuel left. Is it just me, or Antares 2.1 have become more fuel-efficient comparing with Antares 1.0?

WHAT?!?!? Basic rule? I've never heard of that!
I don't think it's a good idea to force people to install software into some fixed locations.
I really can't recall any written advice on any manual about NOT installing Orbiter in any folder.

I have my Orbiter in E:\games\

Orbiter.pdf official manual says at page 10:
3.3 Installation
Create a new folder for the Orbiter installation, e.g. c:\Orbiter\Orbiter2010.

The Short Range Antares (SR) has the same specifications in the 1.0 and 2.0/2.1 version; the Long Range (LR) has slightly more fuel capacity in the 2.0/2.1 version (19200 kg versus 18800 kg)

I've tried EVA without success. First of, the clicking zone for depressurization switch is misplaced abit, but that I've found after some trial. Then I open hatch and press Shift+2 (or any other number), the gyu disappears but no UMMU appears in the simulation. I've checked the saved scenario and found that UMMU remains in the Antares, the only thing changed is PIL 0. I'm changing it into PIL 1 and the gyu appears again inside the cabin. No EVA happened. What am I doing wrong? May it be connected with the fact that I've changed UMMU names and deleted four of them from the Antares entry (I wanted a crew of two astronauts)?

The problem is that Antares can fly just with 7 astronauts.. i know this is a bad thing, but for now you are not able to change astronauts names or specify crew numbers.. i'm sorry.. maybe this will be fixed in future releases:thumbup:

Seems like you have general UMMU issues with Antares, guys. I've been able to perform an EVA only when undocked, and got a hang up while trying to get my astroguy back into Antares. I really hope for these future releases you've mentioned...

Tried reentry.
First bug - you can't scroll MapMFD with its buttons with Tracking Mode disabled in VC (everything forks fine in glass cockpit)
Second bug - when I've tried to open parachute there was CTD with some error message (something about runtime libraries and C++ 2009, I can try to repeat it if you need).

And a suggestion: you could add max G marker on G scale - it would be fun to know what peak G I've experienced during flight.
