Well, right now I'm using a laptop to run Orbiter 2010, and I found it difficult to control the spacecrafts with numerical keypad (my laptop is a 14 inch-er so its numpad is located within alphabet keys). Unfortunately, I don't have any joystick or gamepad to use for control.

Is there any software that I can use to emulate the keyboard as a joystick ?

This might help you out I don't know. I've played Orbiter on a laptop, but I had a USB keyboard I'd "appropriated" that help immensely.

Gee, thanks. Though it's designed for 2006, I'll try it on 2010. But actually I'm still looking for a virtual joystick emulator. Anything else ?

Hi,

Sorry for digging out the old thread, but I wanted to make a contribution - maybe someone else might need that joystick emulator.

I tried several back in the days when I needed to control FS2004 with mouse, and the only one which worked well was PPMouse. Here is download link.

After you press defined key, mouse turns into joystick, with neutral position at middle of the screen, and limits at the screen edges.

Also, one very useful tool, Xpoint.exe, which draws a crosshair at exact center of the screen, so you can center your emulated joystick without using large dead zone. I can't find the link for it to download, so I re-uploaded it to Mediafire:

Any questions - ask, I'll try to help!
