As promised a few weeks ago, here is a ZIP file containing the scenario file for the Lunar Station.

You will need the following add-ons to run this scenario:

IMS 1.0 RC 9
Ultimate IMS config pack (2013-10-07)
XR5 (I figure everyone knows where THAT is)

You'll also need the DX9 Patch that Jedidia wrote if you are going to use DX9.

I also use the Interplanetary MFD add-on for circularizing my orbit when I reach the station, but you don't have to use it.

If you use any MFDs that allow you to pick a spacecraft from a list, they won't work. You'll have to pick things by their name. This mainly affects the Align Planes and Sync Orbit MFDs, but also may impact others.

The control module for the Lunar Station is named Lunar_Station.

What is the mission you ask?

There's an XR5 located at Brighton Beach Pad 03 with a full payload bay of H2O cargo pallets. Your mission is to lift off from Brighton Beach and dock with the Lunar Station on the docking port with frequency 108.10. It will be a tricky mission as the Lunar Station is nearly completely out of phase with Brighton Beach and H2O is the densest payload the XR5 can carry. I actually flew this mission to make sure it could be done and docked with the station a little more than 1 orbit after lift off just as the station was coming out of the shadow.

I ended up with ~20% of my main fuel and ~80% of my RCS fuel. Not enough for the return trip, but you can refuel at the Lunar Station and dump all your H2O before you try to land back at Brighton Beach.

I've uploaded the file as a ZIP file because the scenario file is 472kb big.

I'll post some pictures in the Screen Capture Thread, but I'd like folks to post pictures on this thread showing the FPS they get when they view the station from the BIG PICTURE view. See my attachments for an example of what I'm looking for.

Notice I'm getting 10 FPS.....

I'm afraid I'd go crazy at 10 fps.

Are you using the inline graphics or DXD9?

I'm using the DXD9 w/IMS patch. When I was running it under the default DX7 drivers, the FPS was a bit higher, but the picture wasn't as pretty.

My computer was built about 11 months ago using 'standard' items. I've only got an I3 CPU (quad core) and 8 Gb of RAM, but my video card is not the most expensive one I could get.

Well, I don't sign my posts here as HUMONGOUS IMS shipbuilder for nuttin. ;)

Actually, as you approach it in the XR5 just before line up for docking, it looks something like the LEO station featured in the movie Event Horizon.

Thinking about posting a video of the approach and fly around

Got a question for you folks who post videos. What software do you use to add the music to the videos?

Ok, I see that there's been 1 view of the attachment so far. I wonder who that brave person is and if he/she has extracted the scenario and tried to run it.

I'll be out of town, hundreds of kilometers from the nearest computer until New Year's Eve. Hope everyone has a safe New Year's Eve.

I thought an i3 was a dual core with hyper threading

Tried loading the scenario ... and I have a CTD with this snippet in orbiter.log:

Code:
Finished initialising world
Module XR5Vanguard.dll ....... [Build 120513, API 100830]
>>> ERROR: No vessel class configuration file found for:
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> ERROR: IMS\SBB41B\BM201_CONTROL_MODULE
>>> [Vessel::OpenConfigFile | .\Vessel.cpp | 252]
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> TERMINATING <<<

The default SSBB 41 ... Station scenario is loading fine, btw.

I have a quad core I3 with 8 Gb of RAM and a 64bit version of Windows 7.

You didn't load the IMS add-on. That is the very first module of the lunar station. IMS builds on the SSB41B module add-on.
