Ah, Orbiter. It's so nice to see you again...
I tend to rotate what games I play, depending on mood. It's not really organised; I just find myself playing loads of something and then stopping. Last month, Simutrans, the month prior to that, GeneRally and Toca2 Touring Cars (yeah, I'm a 90's/early 00's kid...). And when life's hectic, that's all I can really set my mind down to.
But when stress sets in, something special is required. The nails have been bitten, the comfort food has been consumed...
Start Orbiter...
There's been work-related issues (or rather, a lack of it), IRL-related issues...
Hit the default DGMkIV in Orbit scenario...
There's that nasty, precarious feeling that you have just after recovering from a sickness bug. There's a loud TV program pumping music out...
Slip on the headphones.
Suddenly, "Calm Spaces" plays, a lonely figure in a small red spaceship drifts over the endless blue of the Pacific Ocean, the moon just pokes through the edge of the atmosphere. My own little Pale Blue Dot.
Wow. Thanks Doc. Thanks Dan. Thanks "Frying Tiger". Thanks everyone.
Just... thanks. I've never had a game effect me like that.
Must have been the sherry. I'll be back to blowing up UMMUs tomorrow.

Meanwhile, my DG slammed into the Moon (I forgot ApR and PeR include the radius :rofl
. I then took an XR2 and tried to fly it to Habana, but it blew up within about 45 seconds (I forgot how powerful the scrams were, it was trying to do Mach 5 at 20km altitude).
But when you successfully manage to launch and rendezvous with the ISS, and then return and do a smooth night-landing, it sure feels good!
