Honorable mentions:
October Sky and Space Cowboys
One of my favorite movies as a kid. Though through my entire childhood my father would annoyingly do the 'In YoUr HaNd' quote every chance he got.4. Space Camp - Not realistic, but fun.
I wanted to see just how hard it would be to damp out the rates on the multi-axis trainer scene, so I set up a rapidly tumbling ship in Orbiter, and let me tell you, it is really hard to do! Took about 5 minutes. It would be even harder if you were actually tumbling around…
To add on to my old list, Apollo 18, Passengers, Gravity, The Martian, and Ad Astra were all very enjoyable movies to watch.2001, Apollo 13, the old Star Wars movies (not the prequels), Total Recall (the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger), Starship Troopers, Alien (the first one only). Fifth Element, Men in Black, and Independencee Day are great quasi-space movies.
Huh... There's a sentence I never expected to hear...I actually enjoyed Ad Astra
