Countdown to the olympics

Olympics has already started, football kicked off yesterday.

:P Olympics opens tomorrow. Most games start the next day.
Hopefully there won't be any violence involved this year.

violence is assured unfortunately... i also predict some serious health issues for long-distance athletes. i just hope the US doesnt embarrass itself in such delicate times...

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

The US has already been made to look a bit silly after some of their cyclists got off the plane wearing facemasks to protect against the "bad air".
Prima-bloody-donnas, as one of my colleagues put it.

Ah, I see. However there may be an uproar if any gold medalists wore face masks during the events.

(also, I remember some stock footage on the mainstream media showing the locals wearing face masks while outside.) I guess its like a skater (wheels) wearing pads and a helment, they sure look dumb, but they're not likely to get hurt either.

At least from what im seeing right now, they were ready for the ceremony!

I'm just amazed :D
Share your thoughts on this. :P

What do you find amazing in that?

It's enough to went there once to see that they are building and developing at crazy speeds.
In Shanghai, for example, there are a new skyscraper built every 8 days.

No reasons for them not to be ready.

He's saying that the opening ceremony was amazing. Which it was.

A new skyscraper every 8 days? I know Shanghai is developing fast, but that seems to a bit too sensational.
