There's a lot of difference how countries decide how to test, so comparing data is tricky.

Anyway:

Faroe Islands: Population 52,200 (100%)

Positive tests: 58 (0.11%)

Quarantened: 247 (0.47%)

Total tested: 933 (1.79%)

Recovered: 1!

One that tested positive worked in the neonatal unit at the main hospital, but it doesn't look like that "track" didn't go further.

We have a similar lock-down to Denmark.

Here Stage of Emergency will be declared today.
President and political parties in agreement (or at least not against) it seems.

Gives power to the state to take possession of a private hospital, for example, or use a hotel to house doctors (regardless of permission from the owners).
And of course for "normal" stuff like setting a mandatory curfew.

The number in quarantene just jumped to "~700" :uhh:

That's over 1.3% of the population here.

Still nobody has been admitted to hospital. So far everyone has managed allright in "house-quarantene".

Schools here are closed for the rest of March.
At work, our outage had been pushed back 2 weeks (now starting May 8th) and they've cut the duration down (25 days total off line (probable wishful thinking)). If we overrun too far into late June, there might be some managers looking for work.

Up to 40 stations on the London Underground network are to be shut as the city attempts to reduce the effect of the coronavirus outbreak.
Transport for London (TfL) announced there would be a partial shutdown of the network from Thursday morning.
Additionally, there will be no night Tube and bus services will also be reduced, TfL said.

Government concerned people are still moving around too much in London, so closing down the transport system.

Over 10000 confirmed cases in Germany now, 2800 more than Tuesday. Looks like we had not been testing enough here and quite many hidden infected are running around. Still, that huge number still only means 13 cases per 100000 people in Germany, less than one percent. But according to the study about the number of unknown cases here, this could mean we have crossed the 1% level now.

Now bavarian prime minister threatens with curfew if citizens continue acting stupidly uncooperative.
The sunny weather here leads to gatherings in parks and children playgrounds  and when policemen appeal to their reason many of them even get angry.

Still I doubt that a curfew is a good idea.

Most people act reasonable, we are only putting the microscope on a few big idiots. The actual effect of the curfew will likely be minimal.

And if a curfew comes, police officers will have to enforce it, and they are not immune to the virus.

Yes you are so right! There are always two sides of a coin.

And while for some unintelligible reason Germans are hoarding toilet paper, Americans begin hoarding firearms. Both won't help against a virus.

I find that even well educated persons don't understand contagion by virus.

I've seen people with gloves having a coffee by the counter, using their cell phone, and of course making calls (taking to phone to their face).
I wonder if they think that you get it through your fingers ?

And don't get me started on the mask (that they take off to drink coffee and talk to others).

So yes, the only thing that works is mandatory curfew / lockdown because it prevents physical contact.
I think they use drones to patrol in Italy (?). In China they use cell phone location and apps to control. This is 2020, no need for man.

The worst is the panic right now. Would I tell my fiancee that I had contact with a person who is married to a person, who had contact to a person which is now a suspected case, because she had contact to an infected person... she would ban me for the next months.

They are tracking people via their cellphones in Lombardy aswell since too many were going out without a valid reason and fines have been raised.I am afraid an enforced curfew is the only way to make these measures 100% effective.
