I have been a long time Orbiter user and just stared testing the new beta / D3D11 versions. The combination of Orbiter111105-100830diff with asmi-ovp-1f2ee85a8579 works OK. However if I try copying the asmi-* file on top of Orbiter121103-100830diff the Orbiter-ng fails when trying to run any scenario.

Orbiter.exe beta runs fine with either install.

The installs are in separate folders on top of fresh Orbiter100830 installs from the zip file.

The error occurs while the scenario is loading and the various 'modules' are flashing by on the screen.I attached a screenshot of the error.

Thought you would like to know. Can supply additional information if you need / want it.

That is actually expected, and should be known, too.

If you read the change log of Orbiter, you can see:
111106 [REQUIRES GRAPHICS CLIENT RECOMPILATION]

Since the D3D11Client was compiled for Orbiter 111105, and you see a patch note from the next day's Orbiter build saying that "requires graphics client recompilation", the graphics client won't work with a version even a day newer than 111105 (not mentioning a year newer) without recompilation against the new version of OrbiterSDK.

Thanks for the explanation... way beyond my knowledge base. Perhaps when this project gets further along the setup will be more 'dummy' friendly.
