I just hope my orbinoobness dosnt show to much but i guess thats how one learns.

Welcome to O-F Trent :tiphat:

ty much

hey thank you deltawing. i appreciate the welcome. its always nice to be welcomed by new people.

yo, nice to drop in!

what kind of flying are we talking here? going to the ISS? the moon? or even further afield (where i can only dream of going)

Hi Trent, welcome! Don't feel over whelmed by the amount of material to learn, just take it a day at a time, and most of all, enjoy the ride!

Happy orbiting. :)

:welcome: to Orbiter-Forum!

You'll learn, just like everyone else here did at some point (and is still doing!)

hey thanks all
i love to use this though I've actually been using the firefly sport.and have only been practicing orbit insertion, i have not been trying to hit the proverbial grain o sand in the ocean. as far as targeting the ISS or even the moon for that matter. (to my knowledge thats what Nasa did.) so starting small getting comphee and learning as i go. i do have the Realistic settings on all of them i think so for me its like jumping into the deep end of the pool not knowing how to swim but determined to learn.

Hello Trent, and :welcome: to the forum!

I would recommend starting with the checklist flights in the Orbiter manual, and also this manual: Go Play In Space. It's written for the older version 2006P1 but is still relevant to 2010P1. It's an excellent place to start learning the basics.

Good luck, and happy orbiting!

:welcome: to the forums Trent! I also started Orbiter with all realism settings on, no matter how hard it would make my mission. I thought that it's a realistic simulator, and I have to keep it as realistic as possible. That's just the way I think! And I didn't get discouraged or bored because of the awful lot of physics/science/math involved, and now I'm quite good at flying it. I can go to the Moon, to the ISS, etc. My advice would be not to take too many lessons at a time, and have fun with them, just as Tex said.

Happy flying!

Orbinoobitious?? Well now you're gonna have fun here!
