I'm looking to get a space station into orbit around mars so i have something to dock at. Apparently this one is good ([ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4475"]Ceres V3.0[/ame]). But how do i put it in orbit and what values are recommended? I imagine using the scenario editor somehow?

Yes. I don't remember exactly where you select what, but the sequence is:

- Create new vessel (Ceres)
- Set it's parent body Mars (body being orbited)
- in orbit parameters set its height relative to planet rad. as something between 1.05 and 1.1
- set eccentricity to 0 (by keyboard) and click apply
- switch to equatorial frame and set its inclination so, that it passes over your launch site. Monitor the orbit track on Map MFD. Any inclination higher than the launch site's latitude is good.

If you are using IMS 1.0 under Orbiter 2010, you could always launch a dockable spacecraft (XR5 will do) into the orbit you want your station to be in, then using IMS 1.0 build the station and dock it to the spacecraft you already have in orbit. This would also force you to have a station with proper attitude and altitude control as well as power, thermal, and life support requirements satisfied.

Of course you could end up with a station that looks like this :

I have to ask: Did you launch every module manually into space?

As of these pictures, I have flown 336 flights to the Lunar Station with my XR5 (from Brighton Beach). So yes, I did launch each and every module manually into space.

Took almost 2 real years to fly that many missions....
